Los Angeles native Chris Joyner is a genre-fluid instrumentalist and songwriter whose playing is defined by feel, restraint, and narrative. He began playing piano at age six, developing an instinctive command of rhythm and harmony that favors groove over polish and emotion over orthodoxy.

Joyner’s syncopated, piano-forward style— often compared to Dr. John, Leon Russell, and Professor Longhair— has made him a trusted collaborator across genres. His career has placed him on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including Royal Albert Hall, Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks, the Hollywood Bowl, the London O2, and the Amphitheatre of Pompeii.

He has performed and recorded with a host of top artists including Heart, Sheryl Crow, Ray LaMontagne, Tom Morello, Cat Power, Jason Mraz, Rufus Wainwright, The Cult, Semisonic, Amos Lee, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Rickie Lee Jones, Shelby Lynne, Sara Bareilles, Peter Case, Nikka Costa, and Jack Johnson, to only name a few.

Since 2021, Joyner has been a core member of Ben Harper & Innocent Criminals, bringing depth, restraint, and feel to one of modern music’s most enduring voices.
